Welcome To St. Thomas Episcopal School!

Peruse our website where you will get a glimpse of what makes St. Thomas a unique educational experience for the children of San Antonio and surrounding areas. St. Thomas began in 1975 as a Mother's Day Out program and has steadily evolved into a preschool and elementary school. It is quite fitting that, in the year we celebrate the high school graduation of our first fifth grade class, we will also kick off yet another building campaign that will add classrooms, a gym, and new programs.

St. Thomas seeks to develop the whole child. We offer a challenging academic program that propels our graduates to the top of their middle and high school classes. The academics, though, are only a part of the training our students receive. We also focus on spiritual awareness, moral responsibility, and taking care of others. Our small, close-knit community provides an environment where every child has a chance to participate and to find success. The veteran faculty and their assistants care for their students as they would their own children and grandchildren. This love for students shows in the constant push to make St. Thomas a stronger school, and by all the laughter and hugs on any given day.

Our Mission

The mission of St. Thomas Episcopal School is to help children achieve individual excellence by educating them in a developmentally based program where they may grow cognitively, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Children are given the opportunity to experience a growing sense of God's presence in their lives and to nurture a deeper relationship with Him. The love of God is taught from the standpoint of the Episcopal Church and its Christian tradition, believing that each child should be led to discover that he/she is a unique individual created by God, loved and respected for oneself.
